"You not as transparent as you think you are."

A friend of mine said this to me a couple of months ago and it has stayed with me since. Since that conversation, there has not been a day that has gone by that I have not thought about what she said. I was not upset or anything but it just made me think about the energy that I give off to people that I encounter.I am firm believer that an individual's actions should reveal more about them than their words. Words and actions should correlate, but the fact of the matter is that she was right. I admit I can be kind of closed mouth or mysterious about my thoughts. I am not a open book and I do not wear my emotions on my sleeves. Hey blame it on the Scorpio in me. I am firm believer that someone should know what I am all about through what I do and how I carry myself, but the fact of the matter, not everyone does. Then there are those "off days" that we all have and someone catches "L" because someone or thing just pissed you off. Even then that is part of you. So there are times that you have to elobrate on who you are. Is that their problem? Maybe they should take things on face value? Maybe so, but I always felt that I had to be careful of who I was vulnerable with because people tend to exploit your weaknesses and use them against you. So as a defense mechanism, I do not reveal too much. Only what I want people to know at the time. Once I feel comfortable, I would SLOWLY peel back the band aid.
With that being said, I am going to attempt to be more transparent with this new website. I am going to attempt to somewhat "decode" who I am by expounding on some of my Facebook and Instagram posts with the goals of:
1.) Provide a more intro-perspective view on who I am.
2.) Provide commentary on current events that are going on
4.) Hopefully inspire others to celebrate their gifts while attempting to improve themselves
3.) Lastly, my prayer that with all this, you will understand the "what" and the "why" about The Whitney Project.
If you do understand, then I pray your understanding will motivate you to become a blessing to others in "YOUR" community. If it is volunteering for a local non-profit, joining your alumni chapter/association of your college or fraternity/sorority, mentoring someone in your family or at your church, just going out and making a difference in some one life....HUMILITY.
Thanks again for stopping by. If you have not already, check out the shop to see if a shirt catch your eye....."WatchFightPray...Stay Inspired"
Disclaimer: Now trust me. I am not no where close to being "the most interesting man in the world." These are just my thoughts.
